Plating Process

1. Anodizing (Dip & Touch Up)

An electrochemical process that thickens the natural oxide layer on the surface of a metal, most commonly aluminum. This increases corrosion and wear resistance, and allows for coloring.

2. Silver Plating (Dip & Touch Up)

An electrolytic process where a layer of silver is deposited onto a conductive surface. It's known for its excellent electrical conductivity, tarnish resistance, and aesthetic appeal.

3. Cleaning (Dip)

The crucial preparatory step before plating or finishing. It involves removing all contaminants such as oils, dirt, and oxides from the surface of the part to ensure a high-quality finish.

4. Cadmium Plating (Dip)

A process that deposits a thin layer of cadmium onto a metal surface. It provides exceptional corrosion resistance, especially in harsh environments.

5. Remove Metal (Dip)

A broad term for processes that take away material from a workpiece. This can be done through mechanical means (e.g., grinding), chemical means (e.g., etching), or electrochemical means.

6. Etching (Dip)

A process that uses a strong acid or mordant to cut into an unprotected surface to create a design or a pattern in a material.

7. Nickel Plating (Dip)

An electrolytic or electroless process that deposits a layer of nickel onto a substrate. It's valued for its durability, corrosion resistance, and decorative shine.

8. Black Oxide (Dip)

It provides mild corrosion resistance and reduces light reflection without adding a significant layer of material.
